What we build with you

Ark Studio is a design and engineering studio. Bring a business problem, a product idea, or a system that no longer fits, and we turn it into something you can use.

The studio

Client work and our own software

We started by designing and building custom websites. That is still at the center of the studio, and the work around it has widened: the system a team uses every day, the app in someone’s pocket, the identity that holds it together, and the short media that introduces it.

Solutions are projects we take on for a business, an organization, or a founder with an idea. Products are platforms we design and maintain ourselves. Client work shows us how an operation actually runs. Building our own software keeps that engineering in practice. You work directly with the studio, from the first conversation through launch and the care that follows.

01 — Web

Websites & web experiences

A site designed for one organization and written in code, not a shared theme with the logo swapped. Some stay a clear public presence. Others grow into booking, accounts, galleries, and tools.

  • Custom design. Layout, type, and color decided for this brand.
  • Built to hold up. Speed, small screens, access, and search are part of the build.
  • A job to do. Forms, member areas, and booking when a brochure is not enough.
  • Room after launch. Pages and features can be added without starting over.

02 — Software

Custom software & systems

When the day runs on spreadsheets, shared inboxes, and tools that almost fit, we engineer a system around the operation. Dashboards, portals, scheduling, records, permissions, attendance, notifications, and the database underneath.

  • One view of the work. What is due, what changed, and who owns it.
  • A place to sign in. Staff, customers, or members, each with the tools their role needs.
  • Records with a home. The screens read and write the same source.

03 — Mobile

Mobile applications

Apps for iOS and Android: a product people open every day, an app for an organization’s own staff, or the mobile side of a larger system. The screens, the accounts, the data, and a build you can put on a phone are one project.

  • Designed for the hand. A screen that does the job someone opened the app to finish.
  • Accounts included. Sign-in and roles, not a prototype with nowhere to store the data.
  • Connected. The app can sit on the same system as the website or the internal tools.

04 — Identity

Branding & visual identity

A recognizable identity, not only a logo file. A mark, a short palette, type, and guidance for using them on a website, in an app, and in print or a campaign. The same identity should still read when it shows up in software and in a promotion.

  • A mark that survives small. Wordmark, symbol, and a one-color version.
  • Color and type you can reuse. A set small enough to stay consistent.
  • Applied, not archived. The identity carried into the site, the icon, and the launch.

05 — Media

Creative media & promotions

Short promotional work for a product, an app, or a business. Launch films, product showcases, motion graphics, editing, and the stills that travel with them. This is a growing part of the studio: focused pieces, often made alongside the site or app they introduce.

  • A film with a job. A launch, a walkthrough, an announcement.
  • Motion where it helps. Titles, transitions, and graphics that match the brand.
  • Stills that match. Social and campaign graphics from the same palette.

How we work

Design. Develop. Create.

The line is the order of the work. Understand the problem, design the thing a person will actually touch, engineer it so it keeps working, and give it a public face when it needs one.

  1. 01

    Design

The interface, the identity, and the path through a task. We start from how the work happens, not from a template.

  2. 02

    Develop

The code, the data, and the permissions. Fast, clear, and left in a state that can be changed later.

  3. 03

    Create

Original products under our own name, and the media that introduces a launch. The studio is not only a hire for someone else’s brief.

In practice

The range is already in the work

A few public projects. They are websites, and they are also booking, accounts, dashboards, and identity.

  • Fabulous Hair Salon

A salon site with online booking, client history, SMS reminders, and a dashboard for the team.

  • Virgin Mary & St. John Youth Meeting

Member accounts, events and attendance, service requests, and tools for the teams running the meeting.
